Habitat for Humanity partners with individuals of all faiths, or no faith. Our ministry provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action and to bring diverse groups of people together to build homes and community. Congregations of all sizes can support Habitat for Humanity in a variety of ways.
Become a project sponsor
Project sponsorship is a powerful way for your congregation to support Habitat’s home building program. Your sponsorship will go directly toward our project construction costs, helping to build or rehabilitate affordable homes and strengthen neighborhoods in the Capital District. Congregations may choose to college special offerings during services or include Habitat as part of its mission work in order to raise funds for project sponsorship.
Build strength and unity within your congregation as you work toward the common goal of helping others. Encourage your congregation to get involved as community or as individuals through volunteering on the build site or in the ReStore, serving as a family partner or providing meals and snacks to construction volunteers as part of our Lunch Bunch.
Look within your congregation
Churches and other houses of worship can play a powerful role in making sure that Habitat connects with families in need of decent, affordable housing. You can help identify families within your congregation that may qualify to purchase a Habitat house. Habitat staff are available to attend information sessions for interested families and to provide more information about becoming a Habitat homeowner.
Become a prayer partner
Sign up as a Global Prayer Partner through Habitat International and receive a special monthly email with prayer requests for Habitat programs, people and principles. Through the Global Prayer Partner program, Habitat invites all who pray, whatever their religion, to join others around the globe in praying daily for Habitat’s work. We welcome prayer commitments at every level and from groups, families and individuals.
